Unemployment Rates Down, Martinsville Still 3rd Highest in State

The latest numbers from the Virginia Employment Commission show Martinsville with the third highest unemployment rate in the state at 6.7 percent, Danville is 7th with 5.7 percent, Henry County is 29th with 4.7 percent, Pittsylvania County is 39th at 4.4 percent, Patrick County is 53rd at 4.2 percent and Franklin County is 75th out of 133 localities at 3.8 percent. Arlington County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.4 percent. Statewide the rate is 3.6 percent and nationwide the rate is 4.1 percent.
