Public Hearing Regarding Safety Improvement Design of Route 220 South Slated

Route 220 (Greensboro Road), Safety Improvement Project, Henry County, Design Public Hearing, Thursday, December 14, 2017, 5 – 7 p.m., Drewry Mason Elementary School, 45 Drewry Mason School Road, Ridgeway, VA 24148.

Inclement Weather Date: Monday, December 18, 2017, 5 – 7 p.m.

Find out about a project to improve safety at the intersection where Route 220 (Greensboro Road) connects with Route 220 Business (Church Street) and Route 688 (Lee Ford Camp Road) in Henry County. The project entails installing directional islands in the median of Route 220 to prevent left turn movements from the intersecting roads. The project also includes constructing a left turn lane to  facilitate U-turns on Route 220 at the crossover immediately south of the intersection. The hearing will be held in an “open-house” format and VDOT representatives will be present to answer questions. Property impact information, relocation assistance policies and tentative construction schedules are available for your review and will be available at the public hearing.

Review the project information and the National Environmental Policy Act document in the form of a Categorical Exclusion at the public hearing or after the hearing at VDOT’s Martinsville Residency Office located at 309 Weeping Willow Lane in Bassett, 276-629-2582, 800-367-7623, TTY/TDD 711. Please call ahead to ensure the availability of appropriate personnel to answer your questions.
