Public Hearing Set for School Board Member

City Council on Tuesday will hold a public hearing for city residents interested in serving on the Martinsville School Board. Lawrence Mitchell quit last year and was replaced by Andy Hall, but Hall was appointed to serve as interim Commonwealth’s Attorney upon the death of Clay Gravely, who had just won his re-election bid. A person is not eligible to serve in two elected positions at the same time. Council will interview interested applicants at its meeting on January 23rd and likely appoint the new member on that date.
