Arrest Made in Brookdale Road Murder

Martinsville, VA- Terrell Kiwon Martin (age 24) has been arrested for the murder that occurred December 30, 2017 on Brookdale Road in Martinsville. Mr. Martin was apprehended in Franklin Virginia today just before 1:00pm by Martinsville Police Officers, Franklin Police Officers, the Virginia State Police and members of the United States Marshall’s Task Force. Martin is charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm in the city. The case continues to be under investigation.

Martinsville, VA – On December 30, 2017 at 12:17 AM, The Martinsville Police Department responded to the Valero station at 1105 Brookdale Road, in reference to a fight in progress. Arriving officers found Tyrone A. Herndon at the scene with a gunshot wound. Herndon was transported to SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville, where he was pronounced dead.

Herndon was 34 years old and was a Martinsville resident.

Investigators have obtained warrants for Terrell Kiwon Martin, of Martinsville. Martin is charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless
handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm in the city.

Martin is a 24 year old black male, 6’0” 140 lbs. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Although the warrants have been issued, the incident remains under investigation.
