FBI Offering Reward for Information in Slaying of Store Owner

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest and indictments of the people involved in the September slaying and armed robbery of a Danville convenience store owner.  Tahir Mahmud, 54, was found fatally shot Sept. 17 at his Joy Food Store at 507 Riverside Drive and the cash register drawers found open. Now the nation’s leading law enforcement agency is offering a cash for help in solving the case, according to a “Most Wanted” bulletin released Monday afternoon. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at the FBI Richmond South Piedmont Violent Gang Task Force at (804) 261-1044.
