IRS Warns of Scam

The IRS is warning the public to beware of scammers claiming to be from the department and threatening to have the sheriff arrest you if you don’t pay immediately. The threat may come by social media, email, or a phone call. They looks and sound official, complete with badge numbers and and IRS called ID. The IRS says they don’t threaten with police action or demand immediate payment, nor do they initiate a conversation with you by text or social media.
