From a peak over 75,000 without power, the number was reduced to 39,000 by the end of yesterday and is at 25,390 this morning according to Teresa Hall with Appalachian Power. Most of the damage was caused by fallen trees. Good weather today is expected to help effort to restore power. As of this morning, 5,191 customers are still without power in Henry County, 3,615 in Franklin County, and 3,032 in Patrick County. Rocky Mount, Moneta, Fieldale, and Stuart should have power back on by midnight Monday night. Most everyone else still without power should see it come back on today and tomorrow.
