Monday, May 29:
The City of Martinsville will hold the 3rd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:30 am at the entrance to People’s Cemetery at the end of Second Street in Martinsville. 16th District Delegate Les Adams will speak along with members of Martinsville City Council, W. C. Fowlkes, Ret. Lt. Col. – US Army.
In observance of Memorial Day the City Municipal Building and administrative offices along with constitutional offices will be closed Monday, May 29, 2017. Employees in essential operational positions (Police, Fire, EMS, water/sewer plant operations) will continue on their normal schedule. There will be no bulk, brush, or garbage pick-up on Monday, May 29th .
In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the Henry County Administration building, including Public Service Authority offices, will be closed Monday, May 29th. Convenience centers for recycling and garbage disposal will operate on regular schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Patriot Players’ at PHCC is is holding auditions for “All Shook Up” at Walker Fine Arts Theatre on Monday, June 5; 7:00-10:00 p.m, Wednesday, June 7; 7:00-10:00 p.m, Saturday, June 10; 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Actors audition in the order they arrive. Have a prepared song to perform a cappella or bring MP3. Must be over 13 years of age.

The Belk Mobile Mammography Center, a 39-foot- long state-of- the-art screening center on wheels, will stop at Belk in Martinsville to offer free, convenient mammogram screenings. Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months and have a primary care physician are eligible by calling 855-655- 2662 to schedule an appointment.
