Gerald Leon Jordan, 91, of Martinsville, Va., passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. He was born on June 21, 1927, in Clarks Summit, Pa. to the late Irene and Leon Jordan.
He is survived by his wife, Sally of sixty-nine years; two children, his son, Scott Jordan and wife Vicky of Richmond, Va., and his daughter, Debbie Lewis and husband Ben of Martinsville, Va. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jordan graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art where he began his career as a Commercial Artist. He and Sally moved to Bel Air, Maryland in 1963 where he then pursued a career in Business as owner and broker of Northgate Reality until his retirement in 1995. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Bel Air and served on the Board of Directors of Maryland Golf and Country Club. Jerry and Sally enjoyed traveling for several years before moving to Martinsville to be near to family. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of Debbie and Ben Lewis. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Nicholas Hull officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Parish House.
