Former Bassett High School football star DeVone Claybrooks was recently hospitalized for diabetes. Claybrooks, the Defensive Coordinator for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League, was released Wednesday after spending a week in the hospital. The Stampeders are scheduled to play at home against the Edmonton Eskimos Monday and Claybrooks says doesn’t know yet if he’ll be back on the sidelines just yet. The 6’2, 40-year-old weighs over 250 pounds, down from the 300 he carried during his four years in the NFL including Super Bowl 37 with Tampa Bay. This is his 7th year on Calgary’s coaching staff.
